Central Louisiana's own, Eric Leger, is breaking onto the national music scene after years of paying dues and "cutting his chops" in the dive bars and honky-tonks. Eric's sound is a blend of solid gold country with a southern rock influence. His New Orleans roots give his sound a bluesy, powerhouse characteristic that adds flair to the fad.

His love for music started at a very young age. With his father having a country/rock band and his mother being a classically trained pianist and avid concert attender, you could say he was born into music. Being homeschooled most of his childhood, music was his solace. Eric picked up the guitar at age 10, deriving from his influences of George Jones, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Travis Tritt, Merle Haggard, just to name a few. He began playing rhythm guitar in his dad's band at age 14, eventually proving himself as a lead guitar player and upcoming vocalist.

Eric's first band as a young artist was a Christian Rock group called 'Commission', which recorded and released a self titled album. After Commission ended and playing guitar for numerous bands, it was time for Eric to start making his own path.

​

Eric started performing solo acoustic shows and eventually co-founding the band, "Midnight Encore', where he would assume the position of co-lead guitar and frontman. Eric was able to expand his sound to include an array of different genres, covering that of Blackberry Smoke, Whiskey Myers, Cross Canadian Ragweed, Cody Johnson, Luke Combs, etc. Midnight Encore found success playing bars, festivals, casinos, and found opportunities to open for several well known artists.

Several life experiences change the plan of an artist, defining character along the way. "Life happens when we're busy making other plans." After marrying his wife Jessica and automatically becoming Daddy to 3 young children, music had to become a hobby out of necessity, which resulted in playing late nights and weekends close to home as an acoustic artist. After the birth of his youngest child, the opportunity presented itself to "just go for it".

The formation of the dream of his self titled band has now came to be. Eric's debut EP will be coming soon, which will include his first single "I Only Drink When I'm With Hank'. 

​
